Experience the majesty, beauty and wonder of the great wall. This is the largest and most impressive cultural relic on earth, the only manmade structure visible from space. Your guide can tell you the ironic story of the human rights violations behind the construction of this wall which now symbolizes the preservation of culture and heritage. Contact us for information about the tours on this page. Proceeds will, of course, benefit the International Conservation Society and, more particularly, the conservation efforts in China.

Welcome to the International Conservation Society's Conservation & Ecotourism in China page.

China possesses a most unique and impressive cultural and environmental heritage. The Great Wall is one of the wonders of the world. The Gobi Desert and the panda bamboo forests are among the world's most awe- inspiring natural wonders. The people have unique and colorful traditional dress and dances.

China has a dazzling wealth of cultural resources. Old cities, palaces, gardens and temples from bygone eras are immaculately preserved as if in suspended animation. This is in stark contrast to the smoggy hustle and bustle of the ever-growing urban areas, which have some of the worst traffic and pollution on the planet.

China is currently undergoing a renaissance. We laud all their efforts in economic, social and environmental reform, especially with the lovely city parks, natural parks, and preservation of such species as the moon bear, tiger, etc.  We also applaud the Chinese people's desire to reform their problems, from overpopulation to the endangerment of some of the world’s most unique and adorable species, as well as human rights violations. China is indeed, one of the most beautiful lands in the world- and we have come here to help the people make the most of it.

law are unceremoniously disposed of. Let's do something about this barbaric atrocity now.

While we are not a political organization we believe that there are baseline standards of human rights that must be adhered to.  While we recognize the overpopulation problem in China we believe that we should seek out alternative solutions to this problem, which will be win-win for both the government and the people.

That said, we do recognize the problem of overpopulation in China and many other nations in the world. For possibly acceptable solutions to this problem, click on the links below. We also welcome any comments concerning this matter in our feedback forms, discussion forums and chatrooms.

Chinese Moon Bears are kept in cages such as these

where tubes are stuck into them to extract their bile.

This censure notwithstanding, we nonetheless applaud the Chinese government and people with regards to saving the panda's habitat and assist in their reproduction, as well as rescuing the moon bears from bile farms. We hope to see these magnificent species thrive again. Click on the links below for more information on these adorable animals and their preservation.
